Medical Qualificiation and Training
Mr Imber studied medicine at Manchester University and Cambridge University, qualifying in 1992. He went on to specialise in open and laparoscopic abdominal, liver and pancreatic surgery, practising in London, Cambridge and Birmingham. He was appointed to the post of Consultant Surgeon in 2006.
Mr Imber returned to the world of research In the late 1990s and completed a thesis for his Master’s degree in 2002. His work on methods and protocols for preserving liver tissue for transplantation took place at Cambridge University and proved invaluable for his subsequent work in liver transplantation. He is still active in research, combining academic work with his clinical practice, and has had more than 50 peer-reviewed papers published in leading medical journals.
